Still sick. The cold has moved well past the sore throat stage, lingered on the massive sinus congestion last night, and has developed into the drippage stage today. The desk, my bedside nightstand, the coffee table... all littered with tissues.

Thanksgiving was very low key for me yesterday. It was a busy day at work that I was just trying to get through (started feeling worse as the day progressed). I had several invitations to Thanksgiving dinner, but turned them all down since I was feeling so horrible. A friend did drop off plates and plates of food for me to take home, so I came back to the house, slipped into PJs, cuddled Bilbo, and ate turkey and trimmings while watching Bond.

I haven't had Thanksgiving with my mom or sister since high school. The year after graduation, I was in Sweden. My first year in college, I was home but my mom and sister went to the beach and I stayed home to study. The next three years were spent at my boyfriend's house in New Jersey. Then I moved here to the beach and have worked every Thanksgiving since. This is the third year though that I've not had to work at night. Last year I ate with Cindy and her family (whom I adore) and the year before that was my best Thanksgiving ever. That was my first date with Jason and was waited on hand and foot while I watched football and 5 bachelors cooked me dinner.

Now Christmas looms. I've finished pulling out the decorations for inside the house. Outside will have to wait till this cold is gone. Thursday is the local Christmas parade. I need to plan for some shopping days. I'll be volunteering again at our Winterfest of Lights later next month. Busy! I can't believe the year's almost over.
